Fighting for Equal Education at the One Nation Rally- 10.02.10

Tomorrow, October 02, 2010, people from around the nation will gather on the National Mall to demand the change we voted for in 2008. One of the many causes of the One Nation March is the cause for a reformed and effective public education system, from pre-k to community college and beyond. Those who will come and march tomorrow believe that it is time to unleash the fullest potential of our young people and to provide an environment in which their fullest potential can be realized and matured.

Educate Ward 8 plans to march beside the hundreds of thousands who will gather for that purpose. We will be marching to advocate on behalf of all the under-served schools, students, teachers and parents in Ward 8, to not only bring attention to our local government, but the national audience as well, to let them know that even in our nation's capitol, the school system is in need of major reform.

We are also attending to spread our message of parent and student involvement within the school community and in this reform, because we believe that no one can determine the need of students and parents better than they themselves- however, those whose opinions mean the most are not as active as the system needs them to be.

We hope to see you there! Look for our signs! We are ONE NATION, ONE WARD!
